New for 2016, the adult 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra events will be run under TRA/UKA rules and every finisher will receive a medal and a Cheltenham Challenge T-shirt.
The 5K event (all ages) and 10k Junior & Child categories are classed as Fun Runs.
The 5K, 10K and Half Marathon are Walker Friendly events. The Full Marathon and Ultra events are for experienced runners only.
Starting at Cheltenham Racecourse, the routes use public footpaths and sections of the Cheltenham Circular Footpath, Cotswold Way and Winchcombe Way, passing through glorious Cotswold countryside and offering fantastic views.
The 5k and 10k routes are reasonably level with some small inclines. The Half Marathon loop starts at around 60m elevation and climbs to 330m elevation, reaching the highest point in the Cotswolds. With undulations, the total climb on this loop is around 360m.
The Full Marathon course is 2 laps of the Half Marathon loop and the Ultra is 3 laps. The route lengths are approximate, having been measured by GPS and Google Earth, but are guaranteed to meet or exceed the stated event distances.
Now managed by CCP, the Cheltenham Challenge is an annual event that has raised over half a million pounds for more than 75 charities to date. You are welcome to use the Cheltenham Challenge to fundraise for CCP, one of our partner charities, or any other charity of your choice.
